Foundation Questions for Happiness
The basic foundation for creating happiness, and a joyful life, is to know and love yourself, feeling the gratitude and joy for you and your life
You are filled with, and made up of, 'molecules of you' that connect with Source and respond electromagnetically through a series of processes to project your external world back to you. These molecules of you are responsive to your thoughts, and commands or directions. The degree to which they respond to these, directly correlates to the amount of self love you have, so, the more you genuinely love, respect and nurture the self, the more responsive these molecules of creation are to creating the world and a life that you truly desire.
There are other aspects to this, however, everything starts with you and your sense of Self Love and your choice of viewpoint - freewill and sovereign? or victim?; optimistic and hopeful? or resigned and hopeless?
Keeping in mind that you are not only a receiver of information you are an antennae projecting information and drawing a parallel or 'like energy' response, so, whilst there are other aspects, a foundation aspect is to accept Self Responsibility and, using truth (with the self), clarity and discernment, start at the foundation (You) and look at where your seedlings of happiness might start.

Loving the Self and honouring the Self starts with self-acknowledgment and analysis. You are a free will and sovereign human being. Taking responsibility for your life requires releasing the blame, shame, gripe and moan spiral and bringing it back to you as the creator of your own happiness.
As a self-development process, questioning and analysing your actions, desires and motivations can help you understand the root cause of happiness to you and how to increase it. It can help you understand and/or identify where your mindset, attitude or mood choice is effecting your sense of expansiveness and happiness in your life.

Example:
How happy am I? Not happy.
What makes me happy? Dancing.
Why? Because when I'm dancing I feel free.
What does this mean? It means that I'm a freedom seeker, maybe I feel trapped elsewhere.
How does my life limit it? I feel confined by my job that I hate and having to give so much of my time and energy to it.
What did I do? I had a drink after work with a friend.
Did that change things? No, it was dull, boring, uninspiring.
Why? Because I was tired from work and feeling irritable.
How could I change that? By being present, not dwelling on my negativity, not dwelling on my dissatisfaction.
What did I do today that would change this? I could look at the bright side, I could be grateful for the good things, like breathing fresh air, a roof over my head, a reliable car, good food to eat.
So, how happy am I? Reasonably happy.
What did I discover? That I am a freedom seeker, that I need to make expansive choices for myself and that if my mood/attitude is low then I need to either adjust my mood or choose not to do the thing I had planned as my mood will affect it and those around me negatively, thus negating the desired effect/outcome of that thing I had planned. Freedom means I can choose again anyway, so nothing is limiting and oppressive if I remember that I can rearrange plans and choose again.
