Why Do We Resist Change?

Creating change in your life is about mixing things up, creating movement and getting the flow back in order to manifest what it is you desire.  Humans tend to have a natural resistance to change, what causes this and how do we release it?

One of the things that is helpful to understand now, in 5D energy, is that the triangle or trinity of anything is very important, this is especially so when it comes to creating change within your life.   We are now, should be choose it, working with a triangle/diamond shaped grid of creation, hence understanding the trinity of anything is the fastest way to create change in this time.
Although the act of manifestation has many trinities associated with it, the foundation trinity associate with it might be viewed as:

  • Releasing the Resistance to change
  • Creating the change and
  • Embracing the change

Hence resistance to change is one of the triune aspects of manifestation in the new paradigm, the 5D paradigm.  Creating change and manifesting in the new energy is, in some ways, subtly different and, in other ways, powerfully different to working in 3D energy.

We as humans have pretty much always experienced a resistance to changes within our lives, whether we are wanting those changes or not.  In many ways we are programmed to believe that change is a painful process – the birthing of anything new is a painful process, just look at childbirth itself.
This imprinting of change being painful and hence to be avoided could be

  • imprinted at birth/from the birth process,
  • imprinted as a learned behavior from observing others struggle,
  • from experiencing struggle ourselves or
  • from being part of human history where it appears "clearly evident" that change and ‘the new’ is a process of pain, upheaval and uncomfortableness.

We as humans, tend to have an automatic aversion to change due to this and our minds are designed to protect us from this upheaval and pain.

When we attempt to make a change in our lives, even changes for the better such as introducing a new exercise regime, or healthy eating, the subconscious mind will come into play.

What you will usually find is that you can sustain the change for a short period of time, just through newness, interest and force of will, then you start to forget to do it, or you get too tired to do it, or too busy to do it – your individual resistance to doing it could take many forms but will always result in you giving up the attempted new behavior or protocols and practices to bring about a new behavior.  Hence you will stop doing any meditations, actions, visualizations etc you started in order to achieve your goal, simply because your belief system isn’t in sync with the change you are attempting to implement in your life.

This type of behaviour is usually what you would call subconscious resistance or resistance to change.

Essentially what is happening is that the subconscious mind starts to notice that you are now working to make changes, but changes can upset the status quo and be a painful process, and the subconscious mind has already got belief systems set up for your 'safety', to keep you away from pain and away from upheaval; so, you begin to feel all sorts of symptoms that are the system's way of slowing you down and preventing the change, such as the inability to remember to do the new action, or confusion as to what you need to do, or fatigue and exhaustion such that you'd rather stop and sit down than do it.  The resistance can take many forms.

Some folks can just steam roll through this resistance and, by sheer willpower, conquer the resistance and move forward - but, most folks actually just stop the changes and go back to their old habits.  Often completely forgetting about the changes they were trying to make, or resigning themselves to the 'fact' that change doesn't happen - after all, a leopard doesn't change its spots does it?  I believe that it actually does, if you know how to work through the resistance that prevents you from integrating the change into your life...
